“This is your type of weather right?” a friend of mine asked on one of those scorching hot days when even the nineties weather felt cool. It’s been rather cool, actually even a bit cold and windy, for the last couple of weeks and in all honesty . . . I miss the 100s. The days at the pool at nine in the morning seem like history now, but oh how amazing it felt to swim so early and have the water feel so good against the skin. One never had to worry about carrying a sweater around either. I might have to revisit this post when I’m shooting a wedding in Fresno later on this month and most likely be dying of heat, but for the present I miss all the good things that come along with the 100s. The pool visits for hours, late night swims, early morning breakfasts on a patio, evening strolls around town . . . just to name a few. And perhaps one of those days might still visit my town in August, but for now I’ll adjust to the breeze, wearing my fedora, and drinking extra hot English Breakfast.
