She had this contagious personality that brightened everything around her. Her smile would greet me when I would run into her in the dorms, or on the way to cafeteria. There were many people who were much closer friends of mine, but Carry’s big heart and her South African accent still echoes in my mind. I remember many moments of being completely overwhelemed my freshmen year of college, I just didn’t know how to do it all. Carry responded with smile to everything it seemed, even to my complaining and would always end with this, “How do you eat an elephant? … One bite at a time!” Years later and I still remember that, especially on days like these when it would be really nice to have a few extra hours. While I can’t have that, but I will start with small accomplishments on my work load today and hey maybe tomorrow, it won’t seem that much of an elephant after all! Happy Tuesday world!
